The overall objective of this project is to establish, grow and implement a sustainable EU Valuing Nature Programme and Network (EU-VNP-Net) now called "We Value Nature" that builds collaborations and synergies among relevant existing and emerging global, EU, national, sector and thematic networks and accelerates operationalisation and mainstreaming of natural capital (NC) by businesses, in particular through uptake of NC assessment, NC accounting (NCA), Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and green infrastructure (GI) and thereby contribute to the green economy. and the EU Green deal.

IUCN’s role is focused on addressing the obstacles and barriers for a wider update of Natural capital approaches, Nature based solutions and Green infrastructure (WP5). We will also support the other work-packages around creating the network of networks, stock taking led by ICAEW (hosting the NCC). Awareness raising and training is led by WBCSD while communication and dissemination is led by Oppla with strong support from IUCN Brussels office.
